Concept 2014 – Redesign 2017
Kata – Way of doing things, centuries of ritualized and sanctionalised rules
(Boye Lafayette De Mente: „The Japanese Samurai Code: Classic Strategies for Success”
The bags themselves, and the way they were manufactured, are inspired by elements of samurai uniforms and armor. These Elements were compositionally adapted during the production of the bags, at the same time intriguing and strongly examining not only the visual components of the samurai, but their life philosophy and world view.
Nu Shu – Secret Chinese women’s writing
The inspiration for the accessory program consisting of toiletry bag, wallet and key chain was found in the secret Chinese syllabic script of NU SHU, used exclusively among women.
The main visual motifs are that of the Chinese fan and plum branch.
Find your Tango flow
Wake up your sex appeal
A bag on an industrial leather-coated hard panel, created through a special process in leather technology, the bag sports an embossment reminiscent of a keyboard as its graphic element. This specific bag form, similar to an accordion asks the question of „If the bag were music, what kind of music would it be? “Tango.
Soft and rough dynamics
Symbiosis in contrast
A necklace that came into being as a result of pondering on the sea sponge as a souvenir item and its usability as an ornamental fashion accessory and merging the two into an interesting concept.
Simple as that.
…and no other way!
A design that was a result of thinking on the form and function of shopping bags in everyday use. Marmelo’s attempt at aiding the world’s eco-awareness using ecologically viable materials in designing re-usable designer shopping bags.
Big Fish & Cat Fish
Feel free to transform
…one pattern, three bag shapes.
Do you know who you can become?
The Fish theme is one symbolizing transformation.
In 2012, The Big Fish two-bag series was created – one design, two bags.
In 2014. the Fish design spawned the new Cat Fish bag.
There’s no track for going back
Don’t forget to have fun on the runway by playing with your toy car. Enjoy.
The Track belt draws inspiration solely from the world of children’s toys. The rubber serves as the proverbial rally track, while the buckle –mirroring a toy car – runs along its surface.
NLMG Necklace, Belt & Gloves
Never let me go
Belt 2011 | Gloves 2012
The line emerged from the desire to diversify and add a certain playful twist to Marmelo models.
In this collection Dunja is using rubber elements and that brings us a number of Marmelo accessories.
The final design result as gloves, necklace and belts, all being embraced by rubber.
Star War – Marmelo for Etna Maar
Sweet little wars to win
The bag was created in artistic tandem with the Etna Maar brand for a fashion show at the Cro a Porter AW 2010/2011 event. The bag’s shape, invoking the image of deltoid air craft wings and the dynamic and often hectic process of preparing for a big fashion show –laced with „little wars to win“– gave the bag its working title.
A la Mondrian
Listen to the art
You can hear some magical whispers.
Piet Mondrian, one of the originators of the De Stijl/Neoplasticism art movement had a visibly great impact on the shaping and naming of this bag. The rectangular play with the bag’s pockets birthed the „A la Mondrian.“
Boomerang Necklace & Bracelet
What goes around, comes around
So be careful what you’re throwing.
The Boomerang necklace expresses the desire for minimalist form, draping the chest and back, accompanied by the bracelet, acting as a sleeve extension. Both items follow the curves of the body with the shape of the stylized boomerang.
